September 2008

Car Update

With just 17 sleeps until the 2008 Varity Bash kicks off from Toowoomba, the Keystar Bash Car is looking and running mighty fine!  The past few weeks has seen a flurry of activity around the old Falcon.

The smooth black exterior is being updated with stickers from our all of the sponsors every day.  The stereo, UHF radio, and sirens are all wired up and the ‘bush-bashing lights’ on the roof look great!

A big thank you must go out to our workshop team members who have put a lot of dedication and hard work into getting the car up to Bash standard.  Special mention must go to Doof (Ben McCormack), Blake Robertson and Tim Baldwin.  Thanks also to Rothwell’s school-based trainees, Nathan Gullen, Mitch Baker, Ricky Harris & Luke Miller, from the Australian Technical College.

The Bash Car recently made its debut at the St Pauls College fair and has recently passed scrutineering by the Variety Club.

Fundraising Activities

Keystar is holding a Variety Bash Golf Day on Thursday 25th of September at Northlakes Golf Club, where we’re hoping to raise over $5000 for the Variety Club.

If you would like more information on the Golf Day please contact Tammy Raynard or click here.

July 2008

Car Update

The months seem to be flying by at the moment, and all of a sudden we’re almost half way through July, so work is well under way on the Keystar Bash Car.

Last year, the car was stripped back to basics and was given a new coat of paint.  Tim Baldwin has taken on the responsibility of being the mastermind behind the reconstruction of the old Falcon.  “We’re basically building the car from the shell up”, he said.  Blake Robertson has also been helping Tim with the car and is enjoying the challenge of helping fit almost 1000 pieces back together.

The old Falcon will be looking as good as new in no time!!  The Bash kicks off on the 3rd of October.
